Lies are cheap. They’re freely available and abundant anywhere and everywhere. But for the Truth there is always a price to pay.
If we’re not willing to pay the price of our own humbling, we cannot buy the truth. Humility is part of the price for truth, because it is to the humble and meek that God will give light.
Patience is also a price we must pay to buy the truth. To those who are willing to wait on God and for God, divine light is given. If we insist on quick verdicts and our impatient conclusions, we will not find the truth.
Thirdly, and ultimately, the price of obedience is essential if we would buy the truth. We cannot truly know God’s will and His ways, if we are not prepared to unquestioningly and wholeheartedly obey the truth of His will that He would show us.
We can deceive ourselves and presume that we have the truth, when all we really have is a cheap, easy, counterfeit “faith” for which we paid no price. However great the cost to us, do we want our lives and faith to be founded on the Truth of God?
